From Thursday, March 6, to Sunday, March 9, chef Steven will head to the coast for the 2014 BB&T Charleston Wine + Food Festival. Praised as one of the top five food and wine festivals in the U.S. by Forbes Traveler, the festival infuses home-grown flavor with the most celebrated chefs, culinary professionals and winemakers in the world and features over 80 events. Chef Steven will be participating in the following Festival events:
“Perfectly Paired Dinner” – On Friday, March 7, beginning at 7 p.m., Steven will collaborate with chefs Tyler Brown and Sean Brock on family-style menu celebrating seasonal flavors and local ingredients alongside wine pairings by Steve Matthiasson in the chef’s table room at McCrady’s.
“Greens and Gumbo: Straight from the Empire State” – On Saturday, March 8, beginning at 4:30 p.m., Steven will give a cooking demonstration and tasting at the SCE&G Celebrity Kitchen located in the Culinary Village at Marion Square. Steven will demonstrate how to use up a bounty of vegetables in his gumbo z’herbes, a traditional Louisiana green gumbo.
